About Time for a Pick-Me-Up

19 Nov

Hi there. I’m popping into your inbox/lunchtime reading/work procrastination repertoire on this Tuesday to encourage you to see the movie About Time. I saw it last night and left the theater inspired to live better. I couldn’t remember the last time a movie had such an effect on me, besides when I saw Prisoners and had a powerful urge to live my life with fewer disturbing movies (and more Jake Gyllenhaal) in it. Anyway, as someone who tends to get wrapped up in the details of both important and unimportant things (and does so especially around the holidays), I was happy to be met with a timely and timeless reminder to live purposefully, savoring the moments and taking the time to be kind to strangers and kinder to the ones we love.

If I haven’t convinced you yet, the movie features the ever-adorable Rachel McAdams, gorgeous English backdrops both urban and coastal, and a ton of endearing courtship. It’s a feel-good movie with an honest heart and a lighthearted touch that I already can’t wait to watch again.

Do you have a go-to feel-good movie? Mine are the entire Harry Potter series, Father of the Bride, The Notebook and Love Actually.

Go see it! Sex and the City is an excellent addition to the feel-good list. I’ve been meaning to watch the series from start to finish for years now. I’ve seen so many episodes but I want to watch them in order.

What do you think?
